As an outsider I struggle to understand the concept. Is it just that Las Vegas is so devoid of this culture that the pregame performance is designed to be a spectacle for the "ice deprived" locale?

Sometimes a pregame show is just a pregame show. This is Las Vegas and everything is a little over the top. It's only meant to be entertaining.

A lot of teams do pregame stuff. Vegas just does it a little differently.

Unnecessary cheesefest

If you're going to put on a pregame show, at least make it a good one

Complete waste of time imo

Kindly go away. We do things in a Las Vegas way. Does not make us win...but it is fun and no one else can reach the same level.

Now you may not care and consider it irrelevant. And that is fine. But we enjoy our excesses...and are better at it then anywhere.

So go away. And enjoy your inferiority.

I think the problem is that once you get that far in the playoffs all of your games are getting broadcast nationally and the same concept kind of gets tired. I enjoyed the first time of each series. Especially the Jets one. But it did get a little old the third time.

Wow, OK. Sorry I came over here, asked and expected some friendly, informative answers.

Perhaps if you hadn't said 'devoid of culture' you would have received a friendlier response?

It was sort of condescending. I'm sure you didn't mean it that way, but things in writing sound much harsher than they would if said in person. I'll admit, your post got my hackles up.

I guess you see that way too often around here. What I actually said was "devoid of this culture" as opposed to what you thought you read in your counter attack claim "devoid of culture". "This", as in "Hockey" culture, not "any" culture.

I enjoyed the Jets pre-game production also. I think they could have had fun with The Lightning had it gone that way. I could see the Knight holding up the sword and a few dozen virtual bolts striking the sword and him absorbing the energy, then redirecting it at some Lightning icon, melting it down or something.

The Caps? Not an easy concept to design if you ask me.
