Because I see alot of Culture, you just have to look for it. First Friday, the Strip, art galleries, VegasStEATS, just had the Summerlin Arts Festival a few weeks ago, I'm sure there are much more, but is that what people are referring to? I wonder if they are whining just to whine.

Culture | Define Culture at Dictionary.com

Just whining to whine. Most of them wouldn't know a cultural event if it bit them on the a$$, and wouldn't go to one unless forced to go.

The natural history museum might not seem like much BUT my grandkids loved it (they got to touch a snake) and the King Tut exhibit was done quite nicely... also quite a few of the Hotels have art exhibits either permanently or temporarily....

Also culture is in the eye of the beholder... I have been called uncultured because I do not like Opera, not really fond of the Symphony or Ballet either.. to each his own.....

Look at some of the most famous artists from years gone by.. Thye lived like peasants or pigs..So how much culture did they have????

Football is certainly part of our culture. There's culture the "everything that we do that isn't directly related to survival" kind; and culture the "everything we'd like to show visiting aliens as incentive to not blast us with their ray-guns" kind.

Football and music videos would be the former, Beethoven and Van Gogh the latter. Although, maybe the Aliens are part of Raider Nation. Hard to tell with those guys.

I always thought of Culture as the arts, I don't see any art in Football.

Then you've never seen Tom Brady thread a needle through three defenders to Ochocinco.

My definition of culture is anything we do that isn't directly related to our survival. America has lots of culture. Europe has lots of culture. South Sudan, not so much.
