I'm sure if I had a Segway, I would probably crash it too. The last few times out on my bike(bicycle), I did that.

I've seen those light-up things before. They were featured on an episode of Shark Tank.

I do too!

Six degrees of separation, I guess.

I play poker with him occasionally, sometimes he'll bring a Segway into the poker room. Small world.

That's "segue".

I think I'd prefer the fourwheel drive Segway. Seems a little safer. But I wouldn't ride any of them on the street. People in cars just don't see what they aren't looking for or expecting on the road.

Although the thread started out as Vegas related, most of the posts following are not. Back on Vegas related topic, please. If you want to discuss Segways generally, the General Forums would have an appropriate place.

LOL -- she is right! we ARE a chatty bunch (that's why I love it here)
I have been using my segway (on the streets of NYC), to go to work
(15 miles each way) and have lived to tell about it, So I am not afraid of traffic, I have been looking at the streets in LV and see SOME (VERY FEW) have bike lanes, But still wonder if it would be safe..

I would be leery of it even in bike lanes in Vegas. Too many tourists looking for their destination and not watching the road. I'm sure there are less traffic intensive areas where it would be fine to ride (and fun for you, although like some of the others, I picture myself falling down using one of those things -- not fun! )

I've logged over 5000 miles on it, (so far) I fell once (stupidity on my part)
They really are safe (its everyone else i'm worried about!) (LOL)

The last time we headed downtown, the beginning of this month, we saw a guy on a Segway on the sidewalk, near downtown Las Vegas. I wondered at the time if it was Macgeek. The guy stayed on the sidewalk, not in the bike lane. I thought to myself "What a smart guy." In the road he would have been just another moving target.
