I was wondering if anyone could recommend some good butcher shops in Vegas particularly on the east side near Henderson.

Just south of Trop on Eastern is Village Meat and Wine. They've got some of the best sausage I've ever had, as well as just about anything else you may need. Not too bad of a ride from Hooterville- just straight up Eastern, on your left before Trop.

Thanks will have to try that place latter today when I get the chance. I really miss the old family butcher shops back in Michigan but they are slowly dying off. Being replaced with prepacked meat at places such as Wal-Mart and Mejiers.

Prime Time Meats on Horizon Ridge & Arroyo Grande (492-9998) Not a huge selection, prices are a bit high, but some of the best meat I've cooked.

two butcher related things i need to find:

- a place to buy meat for smoking (haha...get the jokes out now): specifically, quality bone in pork shoulders (don't have my smoker set up yet, but now that it isn't so hot, maybe i can get my act together)
- tasso (i make a mean gumbo that absolutely requires it)

u guys think Village or Prime Time could accommodate?
