Nice posts Sarah. You don't have to explain yourself to anyone and good for you for taking a stand against some people that come across inappropriately. I would always be careful with assuming friendships with people over the internet. But I would also add that after a few years of bouncing around in and out of here, there are some that I think have proven to be good enough for Internet Friendships. I don't know that I would meet them for a beer just yet, but enough to trust.

And THANK YOU for coming back STRONG for anyone that calls you a liar. For a complete situation and explanation of a topic at times would take paragraphs. Most don't care to do that and it leads openings for others to post opposition. Most of the time I think posts are read from someone's individual mind set. If you are easy going, happy, relaxed you read a post differently then if you have been laid off, sent out 75 resumers and can't find a job. Then again, there are just people who are miserable and when they read something, they read it with a miserable mind set and stay negative things. Again, GOOD FOR YOU!!!

Thank you for those kind words.
I was deeply hurt by a situation that occurred behind the scenes here and will now hit back whenever needed. I do know there are some really good people on this site.
I just ended up the target of a few, and their "gossiping and embellishment for fun" cost me a friendship that I valued very much and I learned a lesson about how vicious, bored-people can be.
I agree with your assessment that one's mindset colors the way one reads posts. I feel really bad for those who are unemployed and living here. There by the Grace of God go I, yanno? I actually work two jobs right now because I want to get out of the financial bind I was in.
I would love to post every time I see a now hiring sign in Las Vegas, I see them ALL the time..but I don't think we are allowed to do that are we?

I think you can post places that are hiring. I have done this, and don't think they have been removed. Of course, I did not check back to my posts to see for myself. I bet if you posted the place that was hiring, the name of it and the nearest cross streets instead of the address that people could figure it out.

I am glad you have a good paying job that lets you work from home. I just wish more of us could be so lucky. I know several people that could use that info, and one is a good friend that needs it more than I do. So if you wouldn't mind sending me the info in a DM, then I can pass it on to them.

Southern Sarah,
I'm sorry you have had such a bad experience here. It only takes one sour apple to ruin the whole batch. But never mind them... Best of luck in your new job!

It's not hard to find employees, from an employee perspective. It's that the employers are being unreasonable in their quest. Instead of bringing someone on board & teaching them the ropes, they think you have to walk in the door knowing everything the interviewer knows. It's not possible and gives the employer the advantage. How would I know what to do when I haven't ever been there before?

When they have a large pool of available applicants to chose from, they probably can find someone with the experience they need, so why bother training someone. When the market is tight, then they have to train.

And in a weak market employers DO have the advantage.

Is there an article that goes with this. I'd love to know how they came up with it.

Lots of illegals that work for nothing. Can't compete with that.
