I was out and about in the worst of it yesterday. I had errands like the post office/oil change that had to be done during regular business hours. The outside temp on my car display read 124. I don't think I had ever seen it go that high before.

We had planned to walk to some nearby businesses while the oil was being changed but we went next door for ice cream instead. Smart choice!

Don't mind the heat much anymore. I still can't get used to the smell after it rains though... Lol...

For people who care about such things, here is a graph of daily high/low temperatures vs power consumption for my house. Until the last three days I hadn't exceeded $7 per day. Last Friday I set my pool pump to run 24x7 rather than the 12 hours per day it has been running up to that point, but that's only an extra 3.6 kWh per day. House is set to 77 degrees F, around 2250 square feet, six tons A/C total, two story.

A car interior can get to 150 degrees in about 14 min and anything inside would be dead. Please people...don't bring your animals. Use your brain for something other than a hat rack.
She should have called animal control anyway. People who ignorantly mistreat animals should be fined and learn what the dangers are. How dumb to not think it would hurt an animal!!!! grrrrrr.

I can't wait to experience this heat. It will be a really new sensation for me.

Currently, it is 78^F where I live. Totally boring.

My upstairs A/C went out today. Luckily my house has 2 A/Cs but I'm trying to run it a bit warmer to keep the downstairs one from having to work too hard. I don't guess the repairman will be showing up today.

My co-worker had the same issue. He spent $900 on a motor replacement.
