Every day to experience 100F for almost 5 months is brutal.
Thank you but no thank you.
And this was a mild one. 2005 would have killed ya!

We moved out here when I was about 4 in the early seventies, stayed for 4-5 years and then my dad's job dragged us around the west for several years. We moved back in 1985 or so. So I've done at least 30 summers here.

No wonder my brain is fried.

Each to his/her own. I can't think of more dreary place than Oregon.

While, we do have some nasty winters, we just had the best summer ever (in Oregon). Better than Vegas. Until today, we only had one day of measurable rain in the last 75 days.

I know that's not the norm, but we do have nice summers.

5 months of 100F? Exaggerating a bit maybe?
Nice first post.

Nice first post.
We had at least 81 days of over 100º weather this year according to Ch-3. I forget who, but some business or maybe businesses give them money for charity for each day of over 100º. (I tune out whatever isn't program content.) Anyway, that's 2 months and 3 weeks.

Forecast for Sunday is 82º.

Last summer was my first in Henderson. Loved it last year and loved it again this year. Lots of sun, clear skies, no humidity, tanning in minutes (woo Middle Eastern genes) - couldn't be happier. It's the muggy humid days that kill me.

It's been hotter in Oklahoma the last two summers than in Vegas.
