This has only been announced on their website so far, but Wet N' Wild Las Vegas is no longer selling season passes for the 2013 season after the park reached max capacity on it's opening day by 10 A.M. and had to start turning passholders away.

Their website says "The demand for season passes to Wet'n'Wild Las Vegas has been so overwhelming we've stopped selling both our Gold Passes and Season Pass for the season. We hope you understand, but this decision was made to ensure our current pass holders and future guests can enjoy a world-class water park experience throughout our 2013 Season."

Really sucks to hear, I was going to pick up a pass for when I'm in town so I could go with friends, but I'm not surprised by the park's popularity either. Apparently the park's capacity at any one time is 6,000 and they have already sold at least 45,000 gold passes. Yikes. Congrats to those who did get passes, I guess.

Guess I won't be going their this year. Isn't their another park in town?

Probably scalpers have some passes and they can be purchased at a higher rate?

I have a nice YMCA membership and my own pool. Think I'll stay away from the herd.

It's a no brainer though, why did they wait so long to build this?

I used to go to the old one as a kid. Scandia too, anyone remember that place? It was great.

Scandia was a lot of fun back before they demolished it to build nothing. Loved playing miniature golf there and the games inside. I still have all those tickets I never could redeem, plus my free games when I hit the hole in one on the end. Oh well. maybe they will bring that back again. Those parking lot and inside mini golf just isn't the same.
They should rebuild Scandia or build one like The Castle in Riverside, Ca. I wonder if that place is still there.

Fun place for miniature golf! By the way I've seen some construction activity on that very same lot a few days ago.

I guess they need to expand the water park now to accomodate more people. Enough land in the area.

They oversold the gold passes (45,000? wtf?) I wonder how many season passes they sold on top of that. I can't wait to see what happens next week when the general population tries to attend.

And that vid link, "perfect storm" (memorial day, demand etc) They PLANNED to open it on memorial day, it's not like it snuck up on them.

Bad planning, not bad luck.

If they're smart, they'll open one in North Las Vegas for locals or to either capture more customers.

Maybe people can "rent" their season passes to others like some do with their Disneyland passes.
