I'd rather no one watch me take a leak.

I'm not sure if he's supposed to "stand watch" like that or not. Either way it's extremely creepy and invades guests' privacy unnecessarily.

He's not being paid by the casino. He is really no different from the people holding up "give me money" cardboard signs at intersections. It's just another kind of begging. But the mechanism is exactly the same.

Yes, it's better than welfare. But not all that much better.

And much much better than committing a crime for someone else's money/valuables.

Would you care to share proof that they're not casino employees?

Looks like just another know-nothing spouting off.

Some posters evidently only want people employed in positions they agree with. Otherwise, they would like the person to not have a job, or find a job they deem "worthy". Hell, if I thought that way, there would be no lawyers or politicians!

Yes, it's also much better than extortion, kidnapping for ransom, murder, rape and puppy-eating. But if that's your threshold for comparing if someone is worthy, then there's something very wrong.

Using a worse example as the only alternative is faulty logic.

The "logic", is that the people working in these positions are not doing anything illegal. Not harming anyone. Not mooching off of tax payer's money. Not a threat to society what so ever. If anything, someone has to deal with a little "creepiness" in the bathroom. If that's the worst case scenario, then I'll take it.

Have you been watching the local news lately? I can make a separate thread for everything you mentioned above(except puppy-eating).

I never said they're not casino employees. They most certainly are. Casinos do not allow people to work there without jumping through their hoops. What I'm saying is that they're paid almost exclusively in tips. If it weren't for the emotional blackmail ("Pity me! I work in a bathroom, passing out napkins!"), they wouldn't make anything at all.

I look at this the same way I look at the people who beg for money at intersections. If people stop giving them money, they'll go away.

Hey, at least we've matured this thread to the point where people no longer think these people do anything useful for a living.

Valets have the same kind of pay scale -- almost completely tipped employees. The difference is that people seek out the services of a valet. Valets improve the customer experience at the resort. Nobody I know has ever said, "I really need to use the bathroom. But I only want a bathroom where someone loiters around the sink, handing out paper towels!"
