LV is the absolute worst place to drive.

I used to think Boston/NYC is worst in the country.

A good metric is how many bad scenarios you come upon each week. Quantity is much greater living here.

I am getting cut off every day in the worst way possible. Any time the light turns green, it is a track race and since I don't participate the car behind tailgates in anger. People make it a habit to exit highway or turning right the last possible second and never getting in line to the turning lane.

People will do anything to get ahead by one freaking car and put everyone else in danger! Zero patience!

Yesterday for no reason, I'm going 75 on 215 West in the middle lane. No one around me. Car comes from the left lane into my lane and slams his brakes. He didn't even exit. What stupid sh*thead would do something unprovoked? People have nothing to do except to play some game of dare with their friends?

If you drive 15S to LA and 15N coming back, going 80mph is considered very slow. SMH.

Frequency of bad experience is much much much higher HERE in IMHO.

Welcome to LV you have to adapt and not get all road rage or you will flip out all of the time. Do not ever expect the other person to do the right thing and do not stare off and look at the sights while driving it can be fatal. What I find crazy is people walking in the cross walks across the streets and how slow they move and have not a care in the world I wonder if some of them are going to make it to the other side
Put them behind a wheel of a car and they become a crazed speed freak So be careful as much as you can out there keep the car insurance paid OH one other thing people drive more crazy in mall and shopping lots the rules are off there and casinos parking lots even if you are driving or walking.

Oh yeah, one week ago, this guy in pickup refused to yield to my son and I in pedestrian crossing path. He seriously was going to run us over.

Well, at least you're taking the blinders off and seeing this place for what it is. Now extrapolate how these entitled, spoiled, irresponsible nitwit drivers behave as tenants, co-workers and neighbors. This is why I'm so down on this city and can't wait to leave.

For instance, we supposedly have rules against cell phone use -- but I never see the police pull over drivers who are blatantly talking on the phone. I never see police pull over those who run red lights. Seriously, I'll be next to a cop at a red light. It turns green, and two seconds later some moron goes screaming through the intersection at 60 mph, talking on the phone, in a car that's smoking exhaust and doesn't have any plates. "Go get 'em, officer," I think. But the cop just heads off down the street. Nice example you're setting there, Metro. But they're Johnny-On-the-Spot if there's someone having a diabetic seizure to beat with nightsticks.

And yet, there are people on this City Data forum who will swear to you that drivers here don't run red lights. They're the same ones who will tell you that the schools are great, people are friendly, and that this is some kind of desert Utopia.

I'm still surprised at the posters who willingly admit to drinking and driving. In the couple of years I have posted here, there has been at least a dozen people to admit this.

I blame the "Ticket Fixers" law firms. People know they can just pay their way out of it. So they drive like irresponsible fools because there is effectively zero enforcement.

Even those who get caught can simply throw money at their citation until it goes away.

EDIT -- I disagree with the assessment that Las Vegas is the worst place to drive. It's not even in the same league as Southern California. Our society would be improved if we took away their cars and made them ride horses instead. Horses are far smarter than SoCal drivers. I visited San Diego once. Once. I'll never return if it means I have to drive there.

Scoop is right. SoCal has been far worse in my experience. I was there for 20+ years.
