LOL you guys!
we have a 'Hard Winter' (below 32°) for TWO WEEKS -- It's "cooler" here from Oct 01 - End of Feb.
then we have first spring then in March, we have second Spring.

To quote my old GF "Vegas has two seasons, summer and January"

Jonathan

I would love that type of weather.

People who are from places which have really tough winters, consider our winters mild. We have a few days below freezing and even get some snowflakes every year.

You do get acclimated to it and, eventually, our winters are cold to us.

Felt "cold" for only 2 weeks last winter, had to be the mildest and most short lived winter I've experienced

The "Season" is generally from Thanksgiving to Easter. Snowbirds show up in November and leave in March.

Spring comes in February. Actually exactly so this year. First growth on the Rose bushes was on February 1. First Roses around February 15.

We have been here 19 years so are pretty well acclimatized. Our max is a light jacket. We have gloves and everything up to and including parkas but only for a winter trip to Mt. Charleston or such.

We have an atrium off our master bath with a set of plants that don't survive a freeze. We protect them with a small space heater that turns on at the low 30s. Practically never runs.

I am from Nirth Dakota and grew up in Minnesota. You don't have to shovel heat, so love that. If you are used to the hot weather, 80 feels cool. I went to MN at Christmas, left at -35 and arrubpved at 50. Felt great! It is all relative.

It was more like one week of real winter.
