I have some friends staying at the Bellagio, we went out to dinner and afterwards I dropped them off at the back end of the hotel, as they left another couple started to try and enter my car,
I said "I'm sorry but I'm not über" they looked disappointed, apologized and left.

I drove up about 2 feet (heavy traffic) and another couple started heading toward my car, again I said "I'm not über" and was again greeted with a disappointed look.

Now either both couples where drunk, or didn't pay mind to the uber app of what the car would look like.

Strange.

Jonathan

No Uber is not running and they had not ordered an Uber in Vegas. He must have a car that looks like many of the commercial "limo" vehicles that pick up back there. Those people weren't looking for a Uber they ordered. To much legality and regulation for them to be up for another month at least, probably longer before more than a few cars are operating.

Supply and Demand ? Too many bad experiences by tourist with Taxi cabs I know not all cabbies are bad and hats off to the ones who do their jobs correct but the Taxi companies have had their way for too long and some competition is making them nervous??. It's a free market out there too bad the Taxi companies do not get the picture plus the way they treat their employees only fuels an environment for more bad stories. I do not see Ubner playing a big role on the strip but off of the strip they should do well and provide a much better service than Cabs do here in LV. Now Mac you can be a Hack

Uber cars are supposed to have the little Uber "U" placard in the right front corner of the windshield. Also the "fare" gets a complete description of the car that is coming to get them, including the license plate # and a photo of the driver.

Some tourist opens the door and starts climbing into my car when I am dropping friends off anywhere in town, is going to find themselves staring down the barrel of my Glock.

Why not find out where they're going and make a few extra bucks on the return trip instead of potentially committing homicide? That's what I'd do.

"I'm not an Uber driver. But if you've got cash and are heading toward XYZ, I'll take you there."

Because I do not need the money and I do not give rides to strangers, hitchhikers, vagrants or hobos. That is why. If I wanted people I do not know in my car, I suppose I would become an Uber driver.

Pulling a gun is a first response? Why do we get all the nuts.

Yes, I will gladly (and legally) pull a gun if someone unexpectedly tries to get into my car, just like I will gladly (and legally) pull a gun if someone tries to unexpectedly come through my patio window or my front door.

Yeah, silly me. I tend to give strangers who make simple mistakes the benefit of the doubt - regardless of what our Constitution allows.
