Yes, we get it. You didn't make it, and moved on. Great. Don't they have a forum for your area? You're never going to "find your happy" until you stop dwelling on your own, personal, miserable past. Just a friendly word of advice

So if a place "sucks" it must be you, but if a place is good then it must be the place?

That's been my experience with people here.

I read a GREAT article in a medical journal about how it's usually NOT the person, it really IS the place. This whole "you'll take your problems with you and be miserable everywhere" is a coping strategy, not reality. Some people were born to live in Alaska. Some in Hawaii. And yes, some in Las Vegas.

To say, "I love it here, what's wrong with you," is the wrong way of looking at this problem.

Not at all. Well, actually, yeah, kind of. There is no such thing as a place "sucking". It is 100% subjective. Someone is going to love it, and someone is going to hate it. So how can it "suck" if someone loves it? So, actually, yes, it must be you, if you, personally, for reasons completely your own, don't like a place. And I never once said if a place is good, it must be the place. I've said over and over, that every place is what you make it (except Chernobyl, Scoop, I know what you're thinking)

If you find the good in wherever you are, you won't be a miserable person who LOVES spreading their miserable thoughts to others. A happy person is going to be happy, and vice versa.

I agree. That's not the right way to look at it. We either CHOOSE to love the place, or CHOOSE to hate the place. I don't think anyone is wrong for not liking Las Vegas, as it's a subjective thing that only each person can decide for themselves. But to harp on the negatives, and, even more, to move away and come back to CONTINUE harping on the negatives, as one individual sees them, shows certain, shall we say, traits about a person and their personality. Such a person would have a difficult time being happy anywhere, if that is how they choose to spend their time, dwelling on the negatives of the past.
