While at the MGM about a week and a half ago I noticed dealer-less tables like craps and roulette. I didn't play but stood close and watched people play. The games are pretty cool. The following AP article reports that more of these arcade style games are making their way to casino floors to try to increase gaming revenue:

As gamblers shun stingier slots, casinos shake things up

-Cheers.

Trying to expose slot players (or former players) to other games in a less intimidating way than learning with a dealer. See some of the games with a crowd, but most I have see have few if anyone playing them. They take up a lot of floor space compared to regular slots, so they better catch on soon or they will be gone.

Why the hell would I go to the casino to play a video game when I can play much more sophisticated ones on my PC?

But can you win money on your pc without providing a CC number or depositing money into a account via bitcoin. This is not the first time in Vegas. Future Alon property CEO Andrew Pascal tried this 20 years ago with a start up called Silicon Gaming. I cant see this taking off when the hold % on these machines suck and take up too much floor space but again I may be wrong.

Here's the precise reason:

If gamblers bothered to look at the big picture, they wouldn't be gamblers.

Why? Since it's not about money, only about the action of the game and the hope of winning, it's no different than watching football on TV - for the action of the game and the hope of your team winning.

I think arcade style games will be fun. And that, is of course, why I play games.

If you cannot see why, there's no point explaining.
