Both are statistically rare events. The source for your statistic that the range is safer is?

what everyone fails to note is that there ALREADY is a skeet shooting range that is 1/2 the distance that the new range will be to these houses already. The skeet shooting range is at the State park right next to these homes and amazingly enough with the shotguns going well into the evening there have never been noise complaints. So right now people are already toting weapons to the area, shooting them off,etc and a heck of alot closer.

They are about a mile to the corner of the shooting park. They are about 2 and 1/2 to the range next to Floyd Lamb.

You can certainly hear the range from places out on north Durango...but not from Decatur.

The shooting range at Floyd Lamb State Park is just over the back wall of the houses built north of the park.
