Yes, but it's just a fact of life.

Yes, bigtime. There are these leeches all over the country. Noone seems to want to do anything about it though. In the meantime they continue to steal jobs, SS #s and work here, taking our jobs. Gotta love it!

It is almost tax time.if every AMERICAN said "we are not paying any more taxes until this is resolved" that would change lots of things.

Illegal aliens are a fact of life in all southwestern cities. If you are put off by them don't move to the SW.

They are a classical mixed blessing. Part of the over enrollment in the schools but the source of labor that holds down the cost of houses and meals and yard work.

I don't know whether on balance they are good or bad...but I am sure that those who have strong opinions don't know either.

So expect to live with the illegals if you move to the SW. Actually you live with the illegals wherever...but moreso in the SW.

Actually you live in one of the few places where the Las Vegas illegal situation will feel better. Las Vegas has it as well but it is a much less invasive problem here. And the nature of the town probably means it will never be like LA.

That is good and bad by the way...

Yes! Illegal Immigration is a horrible problem in Vegas. It's such a drain on funding. It's the illegals that keep the schools doing so poorly. I know, I've seen it firsthand. You do not have to show that you are a legal citizen to go to school there. So... a lot of illegals go to the schools, don't speak English, need free lunch, need special bilingual teachers brought in, etc. It's such a drain on the schools, the hospitals, the criminal justice system, etc. It's horrible! Unfortunately it's happening in many places around the country, but Vegas is one place that has been hit hard with more than their fair share of illegals. And believe it or not, many work in the hotel/casinos in service jobs.

We sold our home back in Sept. in Vegas. ONE day before the loan closing of escrow it fell through!!! Why? The underwriter found out that the social security number that was being used by the buyers was bogus. It had been used by quite a few other people in the valley to obtain loans. Bottom line? Turns out they were illegal. They costed us time and money because of course we were out of the house because the closing was the next day. So we had to continue to pay for the house to go back on the market. It was mess. We fought to get their earnest money and ended up agreeing to half so we would get some. By the way, BOTH of the illegals buying our house worked in service jobs at the Mandalay Bay and had been for years. They all use bogus papers and SS numbers to get jobs.

Illegal immigration is the biggest problem facing this country and people need to do something about it. It's putting hospitals out of business (several in AZ), chewing up taxpayer money for bilingual education, draining funds for criminal justice, etc. It's a big Vegas problem!

Ahh yes and if it had turned out Redwingfan that they were found to be illegals the day after you closed you would have agreed to rescind the deal and give the money back?

I am amazed that you got any of the earnest money. If I had been their agent you would not have. Financing is a stated contingency. If it falls apart they are not required to give you a shilling.

There is nothing in law that requires you be legal to buy a house or get a mortgage. I would be inclined to suggest you got screwed by the institution writing the mortgage...not by the illegals buying the place.

And actually they had very good paper to get a job at Mandalay Bay. Are you suggesting that Mandalay Bay not hire people with good paper?

You don't like Las Vegas Redwingfan...we all know that...now please find a new hobby.

Ohh and by the way...having been around this business a while...I don't believe you. Mortgages very rarely collapse on the day before closing and then it is almost always because the buyer got fired or such. SS numbers and simliar are dealt with much earlier in the process.

Illegals work for less and drive down the wages. The low wages drag down the quality of life. What happens to the illegals who have jobs that get outsourced? Who’s paying for their welfare? Who’s paying their hospital bills? We do not want their problems. We want to know who our neighbors are. . We want it done legally. We want it done now. Please help stop the invasion. saveourstate.org

Let’s take care of our own poor.
