They will accept tips??

I've had a few issues with republic services in the past, but overall service is good and our trash rates seem pretty low to me. Especially considering I can drop trash at the dump transfer station for free.

Trash is around $16 per month. How much lower do these people want it to be?

Even this is conflicting information.

When I log into my Republic Services account it says anything marked #1-7. Plastic shopping bags and styrofoam fall into those numbers but here it says to leave them out.

Maybe to send an email to Republic and let them know - to clarify it and correct the mistake whatever it is?!

Plastic bags are really their own category. They cannot be processed on the typical plastic sorting equipment, and they can actually do a lot of damage and hold up the process if they get in there. Also, I good rule of thumb is, if you can poke your finger through the plastic, it's not recyclable. Plastic bags would fall under that category.

And styrofoam is not the same as recyclable plastic.
