Sounds like a reason to solve the homeless issue, not to destroy transit. The transit is the only thing keeping that 1 hour commute turning into a 2 hour commute.

Reading the last 5 posts, I still thank my lucky stars I got out that conservative, sin-less, penny-wise-dollar foolish city last year and to a real city. In my 55+ community there are 5 of us Las Vegas refugees, and we'd rather deal with our broken down streets here and our super-liberal city government and our money-losing light rail line than return there.

What's it going to cost? What's it going to cost? And have the taxpayers got out their calculators to figure out what it's going to cost to maintain that big white elephant, they're constructing at I-15/Russell, over the years, with attendance waning for both baseball and football?

People would rather drive and cause hundreds of deaths per year just from collisions alone rather than even consider transit because someone got knifed on BART. That's true American freedom.

And when you actually build a system that doesn't give cars all the space you get something like this.

A country that isn't even very socialist compared to other countries in Europe and who's economy is largely on manufacturing cars, even they invest in proper transit. There must be a reason, right?

And when you double down on transit and bicycle infrastructure, you get Amsterdam.

American "Freedom" at work in Los Angeles 2 days before thanksgiving 2019. Most residents would say this traffic is the norm however.

Or check out Vancouver, Canada a city that rejected Robert Moses idea of how to connect people from point A to point B. Here's a trolley bus, quite full and appears clean to me.

We've even learned how to kill people without a driver behind the wheel!
