Blame the Californians for the murder rate going down? Wowsa.
That is quite a feat. We should ship them around to more states then!

"Some were killed by jealous boyfriends, intentionally set on fire in a murder-suicide, bludgeoned to death with a sledgehammer, encased in cement, pushed off a parked city bus or stuffed in a metal drum"

Not really a statistic we should be celebrating and I believe 2018 was the highest on record so coming off a very high base, 30% isn't spectacular.

I'll take it as good news and leave it at that! At least the number isn't going up!

207 pending cases, likely to raise the number.

"Pending" murders? How would that happen? Source?

There might be a very few people who die later from an incident that then becomes murder. But 207? No way.

As usual, the vast majority of the homicides happened east of I-15.

It was mentioned in the newspaper, I think both of them. They are pending because the coroner has to decide whether those 200+ where accidental or homicide I believe.

Yeah but it is things like the Alpine. That might at most get to 10 or 12. It is the 207 that is not credible.
