Lower level employees get treated like dirt, nothing but disposable. Always have.

What's ironic is, the way that the money-grubbing management is handling all of this will only cost them in the long run (and likely in the very near future).

I'd say that this proves to me that casinos are largely run by baboons, but that would be an insult to the baboons.

Corporate pigs.

Nobody knows how many resort workers are infected— including employees

Are resort workers treated differently than grocery store workers, other retail, etc...? Seems not. Big bosses everywhere making similar decisions hoping to improve their own bottom line. Right or wrong it's 'Merica!

I don't think you understand the purpose of a business.

It's definitely a far cry from when the mob used to run this town. Article link is about ten years old, but sums up nicely.

Let's take MGM Resorts International. Who owns MGM Resorts International? As a publicly traded corporation, it is pretty easy to find the largest shareholders. Who might they be?

All of the above manage investments on behalf of PUBLIC SECTOR pension funds and PRIVATE SECTOR pension funds, with some other types of investors thrown in.

Who else owns MGM Resorts International? Here are the largest mutual fund owners:

The above are individual individual investors - you know, regular people who are saving for their own retirements, saving to put their children through college, saving for the down payment on a house, etc.

SO. You'd like MGM Resorts International to do something different - something different that will result in public sector pension funds losing even more money on their investments. Do you support telling retired public sector employees that their monthly pension payments will be cut so MGM can close down? Are you OK with telling individual investors saving to put their children through college that they won't be able to afford it because of MGM losses?

Just askin'.

Yes, protect their employees so they can protect their business. It's easy to run a casino when things are rosy.

Ask any low level worker how they are treated, this includes dealers. All of them will say the exact same thing.

Their failure to protect their employees and patrons will only lead to decreased profits and potential closures.

What specifically should the be doing in your opinion? Curious.

My DIL works in a casino and has been treated very well but I know that’s a exception to what I have heard. With bars being shutdown I am surprised that they are leaving casinos open.

There are plenty of ethical businesses that treat their employees right.

It's not always about money and showing off.

As such, I'm moving to Denmark.

A bit of transparency might help. Not covering things up and lying. Pretty much the opposite of everything they are doing in the article.

What they are doing is shooting themselves in the foot.
