I agree. A bunch of Teslas driving through tunnels just doesn't seem efficient enough to move enough bodies to me.

No need to wait and see anything because as you said, there is no "check the box", and it's hardly a rational conclusion that the stimulus would play a "large" factor given the other items in play.
Gee someone just wants to fight. Are you just mad that no one posted an opinion that matched yours perfectly? And my sources are people that work for MGM and Las Vegas Sands. What are your sources????

Please do tell because I'd love to know the answer to that. Most people I know that have received a stimulus are actually using the money to pay bills and put food on their table due to hardships they've experienced during this pandemic.
either that or saving that stimulus money... im not blatantly spending mine...

As mentioned, I doubt most people are. It's a stupid stereotype.

Nah, I'm just someone that calls BS when I see it. Your sources aren't mind readers either. It's a dumb narrative you're pushing. I don't need a source. You were the one making the nonsensical claim (in addition to your sensationalized claim on the rental cars). I think most rational people would look at the factors I pointed out and realize they probably play a much greater role than your claim. Not much more to say on this. You seem to like to exaggerate.

You're right, people in this Las Vegas forum don't deserve on the ground information from insiders, they should pay more attention to your speculations. I telegraphed a lot of things that happened in Las Vegas over the past year from meetings with casino people including stuff about Resorts World, ParkMGM going smoke free and a few other tidbits but no one really cares.

You win, I'll show myself the door from this forum.

how are you "on the ground"? according to your other posts, you do not live in Vegas, and never want to return?

I'd have to agree with this comment, directed at Willy702, from current and past posts that I've read here.

The only guy on the forum that gives it to you straight about the casino industry and you want to run him off. It really shows what this forum has turned into. And from what my ears and eyes have heard and seen from the front line in the last month. This increase of weekend tourism is due stimulus money, COVID stir crazy and the change in weather.

Well this gets funnier by the day. So the poster doesn't live in Vegas and has meetings with "casino people" about stuff (most of which anyone can pick up a newspaper and read about).....LOL!

My father was "on the ground" for 6 years while he lived in Summerlin. If I were to ask him a general question regarding rental cars prices, he probably wouldn't be able to answer it. Why would he? It's not like he ever needed to rent a car (he lived there and had his own car). And the only time he went to the strip was if I wanted to take him to a restaurant there, or show. Other than that he rarely went down there for anything. Most locals I knew there said they never gamble and said you don't come to a city like that if you have any kind of a gambling problem. Maybe things have changed?

I just stayed for 3 days at the Palazzo. We also took a drive out to Red Rock and played there. I have credit lines at both casinos. I can't recall anyone in their credit department or a worker at the casino asking me if I were to lose, would the money they pulled from my checking account be "stimulus" money. There was no questionnaire when I entered the casino asking where my gambling money was coming from. Last I checked, they weren't mind readers and didn't have any way of knowing the banking account info on most customers. So how were they able to come to a conclusion that people, some of which were either working part time or unemployed due to the pandemic, chose to spend money they received as assistance at a casino or on a vacation? Are we now going to suggest it's how people dress or their skin color (I hope not)? I think most people in that situation would be putting food on their tables, paying bills, or saving it (as another poster mentioned). It's not to say there aren't some that would do a foolhardy thing like blowing it at a casino.

And again, looking at the other factors in play...

Category A

-The Governor increasing capacity by 100% from where it was at (from 25% to 50%) in mid-March
-Cases and deaths going down on the virus
-The availability of a vaccine and more people receiving it
-Spring Break

Vs

Category B

People got stimulus money

I'm going to go with Category A to have the more significant impact (and I think most rational people would also).
