Oh no....here we go...another California/Nevada catfight.....let the claws and paws out...
There is no California/Nevada cat fight. The simple fact that a huge number of Las Vegas's population are Californians (especially So. California) transplants, terminates all further discussion on the subject.

You my friend, are posting in troll-like fashion, not anyone else.

Default Signs of Recovery?

For those of you living in Clark County area for at least five-ten years, you have seen Nevada during boom and bust. Are you seeing any signs of economic recovery? If so, what have you seen recently that gives you hope for the future of the area?

I would love to accept an offer of employment and must make a final decision by Feb. 15. It is a cross-country move and I've visited southern Nevada many times---love everything about it. But I am concerned about the economy and love to hear what you think as southern Nevadans.

Default oh boy

No responses------means no recovery? Glad I asked this question. If no one here sees signs of recovery, then I'm betting it isn't happening.

I lived in Las Vegas for 13 years. My husband met someone and my daughter other people.
I ended up divorced and even homeless. It was actually worse than that but almost to shocking to write.
We have to children and when he decided to get a divorce so he could have fun with his friends like a school boy, the hidden people he knew there( work, etc.) took me out of my own life. Our lifes were really normal before this. No drugs, drinking, really none of this at home. He never seemed unhappy--Even the doctors office started messing with my head. It was terrible. It seemed like fiction.
No lawyer in court, and a man i didn't know showing up and telling me ,i better let him help me, cause my families not going to. I ended up being divorced in two different cities by the same guy.
Other man started acting like i had done something to them.
My child was scared. But later through what appeared to be mental abuse by someone that popped into our life, he doesn't care that much anymore. He now possibly was made to think I just wasn't strong enough to handle it. ( things were being broken and someone was coming in and out of the house.
Somewhere in our background is a really horrible, angery person that takes over peoples lives.
Even though it's none of thier business .( It would be great if they were there to help with things, Feelings, Money. They unfortunaley from California. They have thier own homes, but don't mind me out of mine because it may give them a place to stay when they go there?
I was with my husband for about 28 years? so who thinks they have the right to use thier postion with a State agency( illegally) and change my life.
Oh, that's right i didn't pick them up from the airport because i had to work that day. They have a plane.
Just met them!

I would imagine that just because they have a job offer doesn't mean that that job will always be there for them. Like if things fall through and they end up losing the job after some time, they would like to be somewhat positive that they will be able to get another job in a fair amount of time (i.e. economy not horribly bad as it's been for some time).

I have been here for five and a half years and I haven't noticed any "signs of recovery", but then I'm probably not the best person to ask; I have not been actively looking for this, and am not sure exactly what to look for. I mean, there has been new businesses opening here and there, I saw a hotel built not far from where I live. Not sure if those things will count as signs of recovery; my hunch is that they don't, since that has been going on since 2005 when we moved here, from what I can remember.

I suppose we'll just wait for more responses.
