Kimba, that sounds nice that sale. I wonder why I wasn't invited.
No way do I want to go down there today with all the people. Was there on friday at Planet Hollywood and for anyone thinking the strip is dead, no way! It was totally packed with people everywhere!
At least there is always the Silverton sale coming up in September. We used that stuff for christmas gifts last year. It helps when on a very tight budget. The puzzles were a big hit with my family.

Bugbully, tell Dan "Merry Christmas" from us. So far, no bugs sneaking in like the last few months. Well except for one big butt cricket. Never saw a giant black one before. Crickets are ok though. The kitties had something to keep them occupied downstairs, while I avoided the carnage upstairs.

In about 4 hours, will be heading over to Aliante station. If anyone wants me to know they are there, please wear some big pink bunny ears so I can spot you.
I was outside around 9 PM, I could see the fireworks coming from the Red Rock Casino. I stood and watched for a moment before one of my supervisors chewed me out and told me to come inside. I took 215 to Lone Mountain tonight to get home from work and saw quite a few places setting off fireworks as I went up and down the hills, and descended down Lone Mountain Road. Mountain Crest Park at the corner of Lone Mountain and Durango where a ton of people were setting off fireworks and playing music and partying, I stopped for a moment but didnt stay long

You loose a little freedom but that's exactly why I like living in an HOA. Basically I just need to keep my yard looking nice and pay my dues and I have someone to call if something is wrong.

The employees who are working tomorrow can take a paid day off to make up for tomorrow.
Yeah, we decided to take tomorrow off. We have to take the holidays when the come. We work 6 days a week. And during the summer is our busiest season, so two days off feels almost like a week to us.

Plus, gives us time to recuperate after today, LOL.

I bet your supervisor was just ticked off that they had to work tonight as well. The show at Aliante station was really good. No parking lot light in our faces like the night before at the park. Hopefully by next year you will either have that day off or a better job.

Go to the Clark County Assessor's website. Find out who the owner is and an address. Take some photo's of the house and mail it to the owner signature required. Consider legal counsel. There may be some keeping a public nuisance laws or something like that you can persue.

That sucks big time. I haven't wanted to look at home with HOA's but stories like this remind me of the value of them, even though I resent having my pocket picked to the tune of $30-50 month just to keep things under control.

It's terrible when an entire neighborhood is held hostage, but I've seen it happen. Can you start your own informal neighborhood meetings with other neighbors, power in numbers? I realize they are elderly and frightened but there's more of you than there are of the scum so maybe band together and have a weekly meeting at someone's home where you feel secure about it. If these "people" are coming onto your property, that's trespass.

I agree about finding out who owns the home. I've never found that the cops do much in these situations...they show up, talk to the "residents" and that's usually the end of it until they've been called 20 times. People all over the country, not just in Vegas, deal with crap like this. I feel for you....

You're in a no-win situation. Call the police and then you have to worry about some kind of retaliation. When you deal with people that have no values, they're frightening to deal with.

Since then the house has, physically, deteriorated into trash. The grass is 3' high, garage door ripped off, blankets used as curtains, old tires, wood, TV sets piled on the side, etc. Don't ask me how this happened...the front door, frame and all, laying in the middle of the street.

Now lets talk about the wonderful folks who live there. Screaming matches until 3am, street brawls, CONSTANT (and I mean CONSTANT) vehicle traffic 24/7 (at least 20 cars/day - it's like the drive thru at McDonalds), rap music blaring all day and night so loud my house walls shake. I come home and there are 10-15 black guys on the front lawn (gold teeth, gang scarfs, etc). And there must be 3 families living there. I see several infants thru pre-teens on the front porch daily.

Most people on this street are elderly and are so scared they don't want to leave their house. Last week I left my garage door open and I came out to find 2 black guys (friends from across the street) poking around in my driveway.

Is there any legal way to get rid of these pieces of human garbage? I was thinking of renting a bulldozer at Ahern and leveling the house it's gotten so bad.

There is no HOA here.
Big mistake to buy anything in a neighbourhood that does not have an active HOA

Vons is extremely strict. I dont mind working the 4th of July or any holiday for that matter as long as I can get off early enough to have some fun afterwards, unfortunately this year was not the case

Most likely I will still be working at Vons this time next year or I will be unemployed. If I am still there I will have accrued a little bit of seniority, so I may get an early shift. There is NO WAY on earth they'd give me the day off
