It turns out that we weren't on tv. Frimpin' Cox cut us out in favor of a commercial.

Best of luck with your interview. I hope that you do better than I did.

Them's da' breaks! My mom was an extra in the original Polyanna movie, but her scene ended up on the cutting room floor.

Sing? Are you applying to Cold Stone Creamery? Heh heh, I dare you to sing "Sweet Transvestite" from the Rocky Horror Picture show.

Here's a picture of me with Most Worshipful Brother David O. Martinez, Grand Master of Masons of Nevada. It was taken last night at Vegas 32's official visit. We had a very nice steak dinner.

It's hard to believe that he's only 48. He's a very motivational speaker.

I saw him again last night at Logia 58, and once again, he gave a great speech. Most Grand Masters are roughly 20 years older.

You should have taken my advice regarding
your song. You sure would have been memorable to the hiring manager...and the rest of the candidates.

Default Are we crazy?...

So this sounds a little crazy and that's why I'm asking here. ...We've had few delays...We were supposed to move by the end of the month but the closing on his mom's estate pushed back one week. So not until the end of May. ,,,
It will cost about $1600 to go out last minute (less than 2 weeks notice for airlines) for just about 24 hours to look at places and pick out one.

He suggests just packing up the UHAUL and attempting to rent a place asap as soon as we get there. The dog and cat can stay in a kennel until we find one. Many listings say asap. He thinks that those that were available for June 1 and are not rented we might be able to negotiate a little on the rent/move-in.

Of course, not knowing makes me nervous but on the other hand there seems to be a problems with us trying to make appts a week in advance. They seem to cancel b/c they've been rented before we can get out there.

Just looking for some feedback. Thanks.....

Your plan does seem a little disjointed, IMO.

Arrange for temporary accomodations, take a few days to look around in person. Renting sight unseen is unwise if it can be avoided at all. I assume you have job(s) lined up and confirmed in writing?

Default UFC 100 July 11, 2009

Guys I am from Miami, FL. Will be making my first trip to Las Vegas on July 11. I am seeing lots of tickets for the UFC event on July 11 on Craigs List. Is there a way to decipher a scam from legit tickets? The event is sold out so my only option is getting gouged on Stub Hub, taking my chances on Craigs List, or POSSIBLY finding somene on this forum with access to two tickets. Does anyone in Las Vegas deal directly with anyone with tickets or have tickets yourself? I appreciate the help guys. I will be in Vegas July 9-13 for my virgin trip!

It doesn't beat being at the event live, but just wanted to give you a couple back-up options:

(1) Some of the casinos (usually Mandalay Bay and MGM Grand) hold closed-circuit viewings of the fights, tickets around $50. The fight is shown in a private ballroom. However, these have the potential to sell out, as well. You can get more info via the casino websites.

(2) Since the Fertitta brothers own UFC, they show the fights at the off-strip casinos they own (Red Rock Resort, Green Valley Ranch) in a designated lounge/theatre for free or $10.

Sorry I couldn't offer any insight regarding tickets, but look into these two options as a back-up plan.
