His what what would now be 14 year old Altima would still outrun your brand new Kia. I am sure the Altima handles better too. He would have easily caught you.

0-60 6.1 141 top speed.

you don't have a clue... you can't touch the tech for under 25k.....and that 14 year old Altima would be on its 3rd engine, 4th transmission, and have no air conditioning due to blown lines... Nissan reliability is nonexistent.

Stick to your geo prism...

and dollars to donuts, the 2020 Altima that has the Turbo which would be closest to comparison to the Soul GT Turbo is 37 GRAND!! 37 GRAND FOR A FREAKING ALTIMA,,, ARE YOU KIDDING ME?

Nissan makes a decent car if it has a manual transmission. If you get one with a CVT forget it. You'll be spending more time in their service bay than you would out on the road.

People are still missing the Kia boat for some reason. Kia is a good and competent carmaker. Mrs. elkotronics and I have owned 3 Kia's since 1999. Yep - in May of 1999 elklotronics went rogue to Jerry Smith Kia of Anacortes, WA, and traded in our 1997 Ford Escort sedan for a 1999 Kia Sephia 5-speed stick. Got it for $7,995 with a $2,000 Kia manufacturer's rebate.

No problems whatsoever mechanically or paint or anything on the outside or anywhere with that car. I took our 2000 tax refund and went out and bought 4 new Yokohama tires and Konig Diva wheels for the thing and tell ya what - that pup handled better right off the bat after that install. Lack or power, yes, but I bought the 5-speed stick so I could row my own and act like I was going fast. With me it's not all about fast, anyway. It's about the look of the car, the fact I'm enjoying rowing my own gears, going where I want when I want to go there. Parents taught me when I was 15 how important driving was going to be to me for my independence.

I love the interior of my cars and being in there. One really, really cool thing about the Kia models for 2020 and/on is that they have Android Auto/Apple CarPlay in them. I run a new Motorola moto g7 optimo maxx and would be syncing that pup up quickly to Android Auto in the cabin of our new Kia Soul. That is what will no doubt steer me towards getting a 2020 and/on Kia Soul, probably the base LX 6-speed model.

kia/hyundai offers the best bang for the buck out there...

I also own a 2016 Ford Transit Connect Extended for my business.... if kia would have made something even close to it, I'd be owning the kia... my options were Dodge, Nissan, or Ford... Nissan was outrageously priced. Dodge reliability isn't there.. so the Transit was the only option.

Hey, you're preaching to the choir about Ford. I love 'em and I really like the Ford Transit Connect. Great choice!

I am looking at possibly purchasing a Subaru Outback or Forester. I think they have a CVT also. Is it the same CVT as what Nissan has that you don't recommend? Thanks much.

As usual, you always change the goal posts to try to make yourself right. Davie said his 2006 Altima blew away a Kia Soul back in 2015, and I am sure he did. A 2020 Altima turbo will blow away any Kia Soul regardless of how much it costs. Since you want to use the $25,000 price point, A new 2020 Camaro starts at $24,995 and goes 0-60 in 5.1 seconds, so you can "touch the tech" at that price point too. Go ahead and race one of those and get back to me on how it goes, ok?

To finish, I did check for reviews on the 2006 Altima. People who actually own them are very happy with them. I see lots of that generation still on the road today. The same cannot be said of Kia's. I already know the newer generation with the 4cylinder and CVT are absolute junk, but that is not what we are talking about here. Maybe Davie can chime in on Altima's and their reliability since he has owned several.

actually the Camaro starts at 26,495 and its 5.4 seconds with the standard 4 cylinder turbo..

Buyers have to move up to the 2SS and ZL1 to get more standard safety equipment. Those models come with rear park assist, blind-spot monitors with rear cross-traffic alerts, and forward-collision warnings, and 3LT buyers can get them as options.

so now how much is it for apples to apples with the same tech.....

if we are comparing dollar for dollar, then you go with the Kia Stinger... with a 0-60 under 4.7 seconds on its base model.

You have a 2020 Kia, and the 2021 Camaro is not out yet. The 2020 Camaro starts at $25,000. So it does not have all the safety features, but it is still much faster. Car and Driver got 5.1, but whatever.

No, the 5.1 is with the 4 cylinder/ 6 speed manual and the $4,500 performance package. So yes, after more research it is 5.4 for the $25,000 base model. This below is from the dealership. The 2020 starts at $25,000 like I said. Scroll down to trims and it is the 1ls model. I know, they do not have any in stock. But that is the starting MSRP like I originally said.
