Haha, it probably became confused after it realized that every third house in the neighborhood looks exactly like the one it ran away from!

I spoke to my wife yesterday and she says that between 1am-2am some neighborhood dog's barking keeps waking the baby up. The barking is pretty faint but goes on for 5-30 minutes. Enough to startle the baby. Not sure how close or far the dogs are. Would like some type of deterrent for the night time barking.

I don't care if the solution is temporary. I just need something for the next 2 1/2 months till I get back and make some visits to some neighbors or dogs. I was going to order it online and have it sent to her.

Thanks anyone.

Might want to try some 1" foam board on the inside of the window at night.

^ This. Have dogs next door that bark every time we go into that room lol. They would wake my daughter up. Just bought a humidifier for the winter and use a fan in the summer. Works well.

Only a good idea if you are interested in aquiring a felony for animal abuse.

I second the white noise comment. I sleep during the day and use a small $10 fan from Target for white noise. My dog can bark in the other room and I never wake up.

The free Android App "Lightning Bug" is also good, but I prefer the fan.

Double pane Windows blocks sound too.

I live in the center of a large village, midday the barks are from every direction so I have no idea where to start the complaints. I think people realize this so they let the barking persist. 3 more years until we move.

The only concern I would have about "white noise" with an infant is unknown impacts on the child's neurological development. Clearly, it's unnatural.

I would call utter silence unnatural as well. If you were living in nature, animal sounds would be normal. Getting eaten by wolves might be natural in that scenerio too though.
