I left because after 15 years I got tired of Vegas and then the lousy job market handed me an excuse to leave. Frankly if I would have found something work wise I'd still be in Vegas, but I'm very happy to be gone. To me Vegas is a big city which just doesn't want to act like one, too much small minded thinking. I understand lots of people are happy with that, but I wasn't.

If you want a big city with small minded thinking, try Jacksonville, Florida. Probably the most backwards big city I have ever been in

There are probably lots of choices in that regard in the South, I know in Raleigh the natives call any growth initiative a "Yankee" proposal. I kid you not, my uncle who came from Florida told me every NC native blames anything that goes wrong on New York. Traffic jams are just a bunch of New Yorkers clogging the roads, upscale shopping malls are built for New Yorkers and the latest subdivision was built to house New Yorkers. Its hilarious.

There are lots of folks in Florida who feel the same. Half of New York moved to Orlando. Most people I knew when I lived there were usually from the Bronx, Queens or Brooklyn

She wanted to know where I worked in the building as she never saw me before. I told her I was a delivery driver and did not work there. She immediately puts her nose up and looks away. That happened more times than I could count. Finally, I just starting being a snob back and ignoring them.
You couldn't really say she was 'rich' though.

But, generally speaking, a beautiful woman who works in an office...probably meets mostly all office type people. A delivery person isn't generally her type of guy to date, I'd imagine. They are also the kind of girls who boast to friends that they met a lawyer who asked them out, etc.

From the sounds of it, your initial conversation was based on mutual physical attraction....whereas if your encounter would have been understood as just two people...she'd probably have remained civil throughout.

My guess anyways...

If you want to live in the south and also in the modern era, Atlanta, Charlotte or Miami are the only choices. The rest of it sucks.

I left Las Vegas after almost 11 years for the same reasons I moved there from Chicago.
I wanted a change in climate, culture, and to see what else this country has to offer.
Although my family still lives in Chicago, after leaving Las Vegas I have to say that Vegas was more my "home" than anywhere else has been. I REALLY miss some of my friends and I had what was financially a MUCH better job there. Other than that I am enjoying my new life where I am at.

I liked the look and feel of Chatanooga.

I didn't care at all for Charlotte...nice downtown...but the rest leaves a lot to be desired.
