We just moved to Lexington and need to find not only a new family doctor and pediatrician (the ped post was really helpful with this), but we are also in need of a pediatric allergist (son has a peanut allergy & asthma) and a GI doctor (husband has Ulcerative Colitis). Can anyone help out with some recommendations?

Thanks

I have no idea for all the doctors, but want to help you keep this thread near the top until somebody who knows more comes along! My son has allergies and we have just started to take him to Karim and Branch. They are located at 2387 Professional Heights Drive Suite 60. That is off Nicholasville Road near Malabu Drive. The # is (859)277-1137. My wife says he came highly recommended from our family doc. She also says that Dr. Karim isn't the most outgoing type of guy, so don't expect any warm fuzzy feelings from him. She also says the staff is GREAT!

Thank you. I will make a note of his information. I was very fortunate that the Pediatrician that was recommended by a mom and teen is on our new insurance. I hope my son will like him.

Allergy and Asthma Associates of Bluegrass--Doctors Gerson and Greisner (off Richmond Road). Both are good. Before we moved, they treated both my kids for peanut allergies and my daughter for asthma. My family doctor was Dr. Pittman at Lexington Clinic Palomar (off Harrodsburg/Man O War). If you're looking for a pediatric dentist, my kids loved Dentistry for Children (in same medical center as the allergist I recommended). My dentist was Alumni Dental Center.

Ditto for Drs Gerson and Greisner. They aren't just pediatric allergists, but I have personally gone to them for asthma/allergies since moving to Lexington and I know several families with children with peanut allergies that also go there. The staff is very friendly and the doctors have a lot of good information.
