Cedar Swamp Road repair in Glen Cove-improvement? (area, island)

Has anyone been in Glen Cove lately and experienced driving down Cedar Swamp Road and also parts of Glen Street? This project is supposed to improve the look of Glen Cove with it's fancy 'islands' in the middle of the road and new sidewalks.I know it's not completed but do you think it will really improve the area.No one I spoken with has anything positive to say about it,but I'm hopeful it will look like something in the near future.This is a Tom Souzzi vision that was shoved down our throats.

Well its lipstick on a pig, because the problems in that area have less to do with roads and fancy islands and more to do with a bunch of dirty guys hanging out on the sidewalk, and mistaking the street for a toilet.

Still not finished-now the 'islands' are blacktopped in the middle.No place for the flowers!
