I can't stand people who think nothing of throwing the snow in the street. I've seen a car hit someone's snow pile and skid out. Why not be a man and work a little harder to put the snow somewhere else?
When the plows stop blocking up my driveway everytime they come by I will stop putting the snow back into the street.
Stop being such a yenta..there are more things to worry about then people moving some snow into the street.

My husband has been throwing snow on the streets of Massapequa for 20+ years. Now and tell me he's the only one that does this?
so, the guy yelled at you about shoveling the snow into the street...did you say anything back to him about his early morning snow removal activities. You will be surprised sometimes talking to your neighbors just works. You know....there is no reason to hide behind the law for every stupid thing that bothers us...
Loud noise that lasts any length of time at 3 AM goes against noise ordinances. That's the point of the OP's post. Who wants to be woken up in the middle of the night by snow removal equipment making a loud racket? There has to be an ordinance against that.

A friend of mine is absolutely livid at what they did to him in your neck of the woods today. He shoveled his sidewalk, and they came along with a plow and dumped it right back. Then the town gave him attitude when he went down there to complain!
Well, there's one good thing about living in Suffolk: If you don't have sidewalks, you can't get a ticket for not shoveling them.

He complained? He actually went down to complain? Should the town not plow his street or only plow it a little bit? wow

The street was already plowed. They moved the snow and then dumped it onto the sidewalk in front of his house. Having seen the photos of what they did, I can't blame him for being annoyed. He did what he was supposed to do and they dumped everything back, leaving him a risk for a ticket. Maybe you aren't aware that you can get a ticket if you don't shovel the sidewalk in front of your house there.
