I've yet to hear a compelling reason why cutting salaries $15k while leaving all other benefits untouched shouldn't happen. NCPD still averages $115,000 with all the same benefits while Nassau instantly saves over $10 million. That's a no brainer that the PBA could use to garner loads of goodwill with the public.

Can you tell from the cops on this thread how much they care about "goodwill"? They want to get PAID, and keep getting paid, they don't care if you don't like them.

The compelling reason is called a contract. And as long as it's in place, nobody's salary is going to be cut. Note that in the recent past when police contracts were reopened, monies were deferred until later dates, not cut. It's simply not going to happen.
And yet again, you have absolutely no way of knowing that..not for one fraction of one second. It's what you WANT to believe, some how you have yourself convinced it's true, but again, absolutely not one shred of evidence.
Given that I am referring to you with my comments, as I've asked you roughly four or five times whether you've presented your ideas to your legislators and what their responses were, and every single time you ignored the question and went on and on about everything BUT that, you're up to your ears in shenanigans.
So, I'll ask you, again, what you have done--BESIDES complain on message boards? Have you presented your ideas to your legislators? What was their response?

Ok, outside of the contract, which can be renegotiated, why can't the salaries be cut by $15k for the good of the county?
In the city he would be a 10-54 EDP
Nassau 10-62
Suffolk 10-8 EDP
I'd leave em 55 and drive away. I can care less if I get thrown of this site. I have presented my views and losers like D--- I am not catering to at all. I gotta go see a few of them now , and of course collect my 12 % night diff to do it

If you have to ask that question, you've obviously never worked under a contract. Contracts can't be renegotiated unless and until both sides agree to it. And since Nassau cops just did that, I don't imagine that they'll be real eager to do it again.
Once more, wages are never cut for existing employees who have a valid contract. And if you'd spent any time working for the county, you'd know that you wouldn't find too many people willing to do anything for the "good of the county." There's not a real loving relationship between the county and its employees.
Nassau County tax payers: do you feel the NCPD should take a $15k per cop pay cut, decreasing the average pay to $115,000 while keeping all benefits?
