There are various definitions. I'm curious which one the OP means. That's not too much to ask - using Google, is it?

But there's more of that ad hominem.

Pequa is ground zero?!? There's at least 100+ tea party groups on the island, tens of thousands in the US. This thing started around 07-08 with Ron Paul, Karl Denninger and a few others. This is about promoting the return of free market principles and stopping crooked politicians from abusing taxpayers in an attempt to create a socialist utopia throughout the US.

Deadpool, you're way off. The spending is out of control in Nassau County. The corruption runs deep and the entitlements are so out of control they've run out of other people's money to keep the scheme going. How else would you explain Nassau having the 2nd highest taxes in the country yet we're looking at a $300+Million deficit and now under control from an oversight board?
The tea party has left the realm of Ron Paul and gone into Michelle Bachmann, Jim Demint craziness. It has been over taking by the extremist of the extreme wing of the Republican Party.

Outside of that the movement was quite hypocritical from early on. Mangano and Schmitt heaping praise on Venditto in 09 at one of the Pequa rallies while slamming Suozzi (when Venditto raised taxes FAR more than Suozzi) showed that.

As per race:

MADDOW: Do you think that a private business has the right to say we don't serve black people?

RON PAUL: Yes. I'm not in favor of any discrimination of any form. I would never belong to any club that excluded anybody for race. We still do have private clubs in America that can discriminate based on race.

Agreed 100% that stuff is right from Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals" playbook ... you know, Saul Alinsky the Marxist activist who inspired BARACK OBAMA. Also, Obama's beloved mentor Frank Marshall Davis was another well known Marxist thug. You know your right when the far left starts whining and crying.

George Soros is the biggest anti-American traitor out there. I hope he gets charged with sedition ...

If we can identify as strategy in a book, and that makes the strategy bad, may I direct your attention to the book Manufacturing Consent by Chomsky. He pulls the title from Jurgen Habermas. Both describe communication strategies used by corporations (they own all of our major media, by the way) to distract us from actual political issues. Specifically, they describe using multiple arms of media to "flak" discussions with so much scattered response that a lucid discussion can never take place. The consequence is that the rich maintain control of the levers of power and resources (raw and monetary).

Anyone who doesn't like socialism, by the way, should note that Fox News runs at cost. It doesn't profit. Doesn't the free market logic insist that corporate endeavors should be profit bearing?

There is an enormous deficit because the county won't tax the people who have the money. I don't advocate taxing the working class. Public servant pay looks huge because all private sector pay has stagnated. All the work moved away. That's all by design - free international labor market. That's what you want - right?
You claim this is about "jealousy" that we are overpaying NCPD $202k/yr avg all inclusive. No, it's insanity what is going on. Even the pro-tax people agree it's absurd. You are advocating taxing the working class. Every single tax proposed is regressive by default, because there is NO way to tax wealth on LI without it looking like complete class-warfare. Home-energy tax is the most damaging to lower/middle class folks.
Jobs are leaving this country because it's too burdensome and too many regulations and layers of red-tape to run a business here. Have you tried before?

Frankly, I believe in the capitalism that Adam Smith invented. Capitalism he explains isn't working if it doesn't help everyone.
True capitalism does help everyone and increases QOL for everyone. What we have in Nassau county is a few unions helping themselves to taxpayer money to the tune of about $10k+ per homeowner. That's helping a few thousand people special interest groups while looting and ruining the rest of the county.

40% of our GDP was produced in the financial industries. That is non-production. These people make nothing. Like government, they just take a cut each time money changes hands. It's okay for the rich to do it, but not the public commons - I see. We live in the heart of that industry, by the way, but they are so rich and influential, we aren't allowed to tax them. They say if they get taxed, they may leave the country. That doesn't sound patriotic to me. That's take your ball and go home.

Free market in the present context just means cut more pay for more people. What American Dream is that? You are angry at the wrong people
You clearly know nothing about the financial markets if you think that they "Just take a cut each time money changes hands". What about asset management? Wealth preservation? Private equity? Providing capital to startups and growing businesses?
No, it's not okay for the rich to "do it" like the public sector is "Doing" us. No corporations are true monopolies like we have with the Unions in NY. Even the giants like Microsoft and Exxon have limits to what they can charge for their product. I can't say the same when we're paying NCPD $202k per year.

Default Is something wrong wth this picture: Nassau going broke while average cop rakes in $202,000!

"If you're looking for one of the reasons why Nassau County spends so much, start with police pay.....
The total package, including fringe benefits and overtime, averages $202,400 per officer."
High Police Pay Fuels Nassau Squeeze - WSJ.com

How the heck did we ever get to this point? How was it allowed to happen?? Aren't the politicians supposed to work for the public's interest and not the interests of the police union???

All I can do is write to my reps

I totally agree, it is ashame how much nassau county cops are paid in overtime. So many people are struggling to pay their bills, and trying to make ends meet including myself. Between the cops and teachers salary nassau county will eventually go broke, and their will no longer be the middle class only the poor and the rich living on long island.
