Police doing their job will curtail street racing.
That won"t Solve The Problom For Pepole who want to Enjoy their Hobby
But Then The Town says they can"t
Because They Had to Put More Affordable Housing Crap
and then pepole complain
Were Not the Bad Guys we Just got Kicked onto the Street!

I'd rather them fight crime and not waste their time "curtailing" an activity that is one of the most popular sports in the world but not allowed to flourish due to puritanical and idiotic zoning laws.
Oh well, another typical LI story. Instead of providing an outlet for hobbyists, bringing in money (business and tourist), increasing the tax base, curtailing illegal racing, encouraging progressive development of dilapidated property....we just hire more $100k/yr cops.

Brilliant.
I know, the police are trying to hold down the crazy awesome street racers.
Street racing is a harmless crime, police officers should go after violent offenders.
A terrible thing that these youngs kids arent given a proper venue to what basically amounts to "playing with thier toys" No argument that this stuff doesnt belong on the street from me.
I saw this story on the news and the father of one of the kids spoke and was pretty much "my son is a good kid, he was just doing what any 21 year old would do."
Ummmm...no, sorry sir, but i wasn't racing my car 145mph on the LIE when I was 21 (granted i'm a female, but still)...and I have a feeling most 21 year olds aren't.
These morons could be going to Englishtown, NJ and racing there.
And cars DO kill people, like guns.
Morons are going to be morons, no matter what.
