At least from most of the people I know or have heard, they use "carnivore" as a point of pride. As in, trying to underscore the meat part, usually for purposes of attempting to annoy vegetarians.

Look, if you've got a problem with vegetarians, don't take it out on me. I already explained my use of the term "carnivore" (as what I understand to be non-vegetarians' preferred term for themselves from extensive experience talking/reading about this subject with people). Save your projections for the people it actually applies to.
