When I searched Port Washington, Great Neck area, I found so many stucco houses, some are recently built while others are very aged. Realtor tells me stucco reduce resale value by 15%, how come people still build new stucco houses even synthetic stucco causes so much water intrusion trouble in 90s?

1) Because it is cheap to apply and looks attractive to buyers. Alot of options with details around windows, doors and corners
2) It has a high R valve for insulation.

Are most people in NorthEast not aware of synthetic stucco problem or it's not a big deal here?

when i building my house 10+ years ago, my builder talked me into using the stucco. but 3 of my neighbor came up to me and suggested me using brick. til today i still thank my old neighbors.

u have no idea how contractors can lie and make false claim just to make a extra $500 and put their customer into a very bad situation.

No its is very much an issue here. The issue is worse in the South due to the higher humidity year round.

I wanna torch every fucco house I see. Especially when the rest of the house is vinyl or asbestos shingles. Hideous.
