What are your thoughts as to why CDLI has significantly more complaining than other forums? I'm not talking about complaining about taxes, or LIPA, etc, but rather seemingly petty, meaningless stuff. This isn't a poke at any particular member. I'm genuinely curious. Enjoy the rest of your week...

What are your thoughts as to why people who don't even live on Long Island are compelled to troll LI CD and harass the Long Islanders, TransplantedFloridian? Do they really have nothing better to do in their own locations, thousands of miles away? Are they really THAT BORED and THAT OBSESSED with Long Island? I'm genuinely curious. Enjoy the rest of your week...

It all comes down to basic quality of life. Not only are we not allowed to ride ATVs on the beach while shooting shotguns in the air, we have realtors falling off of chairs in our houses, people having trouble washing their feet, and serious leaf bag issues, not to mention the horror of fathers and sons having catches in the FRONT yard of all places. it's pretty much mass hysteria around here lately.

I mean, unless you live in Rocky Point, what is there to be happy about?

I skipped over that one ...

When was the last time Crookhaven has been around and you're still picking on him?

I think LI has a greater-than-average number of people who are living at the very outer limits of, or flat-out beyond, their financial means (either because they "have" to or because they just want to "keep up with the Joneses"), and I think being in a constant state of financial insecurity would make anyone more prone to being jealous/pissed off/nitpicky.

"I can barely afford to even live here, and NOW I have to deal with these freakin' idiots with their noisy catch-playing/garage-fan-running/noisy ATVs/lack of manners/whatever on top of that?! ::Grumble grumble grumble::"

...or could it be that I spent the first 25 years of my life on Long Island?

Nobody I know sits around on LI with nothing.

Those are the people who sell out and head for the cheaper hills in other areas of the country.

So? So what? Now you are a resident of another area. Get over it already and pay attention to the new place you live in and the new people you live with instead of wondering about the people in an area you left behind on a messageboard who are strangers to you.
