They are very pretty, such as West Meadow, but tend to be rocky. A pair of water shoes is helpful.

What are you looking to do?

You could walk (long walk) to West Meadow mentioned above, or over to Sand Street in Stony Brook. They're good for sunbathing, by sand street there's an area you could fish off of.
