Actually, the whole world, except for the USA, uses the Metric measurement system. Oh and that other world leader in high technology, Myanmar. Formerly known as Burma. Two out of 213 countries. Sort of makes the USA look out of step, doesn't it ?
I wouldn't mind the metric system if it were standardized here too. But as it stands, it's completely useless to us. Liters is another one that chaps my bum.
Nice try..........I was pointing out that the US stands alone in the world, in the use of Imperial measurement. Did you ever consider how much extra money US based auto techs spend to maintain two compete sets of hand tools, one in inch fractions, and the other in metric sizes ? Or the cost to American manufacturers, to stock two sets of fasteners, one for the domestic market, and another type for export products, in metric ?

The Imperial system is made up of odd numbers and is not logical. A kilometre has 1000 metres in it. A mile has 5,280 feet in it. Which makes more sense to you ?

At least we can approximate highway driving to be about 1 mile/minute.
Let him have his fun. I do though commend Canada for dumping the penny a few years ago.
Did they give them all to the US? I sometimes get Canadian pennies in change.
