I live in a third world town also known as Brentwood. I cant afford to move, for the past 25 years I've been paying my mortgage and taxes. I need tips or suggestions on how to deal with the loud, different language music every weekend. Every other resident/ neighbor blast music from 3pm to 2am. The music gets louder after 11pm. I cant file noise complaints because I may not live to tell about it. I get so depressed during the summer. I have to put my tv on the loudest volume setting and I can still hear the loud bass.

You gotta move. That's the only option. Figure it out somehow and do it.

Yup, even in Brentwood someone who's owned a house for 25 years is going to make money off it. If nothing else it should be almost paid off. Take the money and run, rent in another town if you have to.

Trollin' down the river...If you could pay LI mtg and taxes for 25 yrs and can't afford to sell and move in this market, a 3rdworldtown is right where you're supposed to be.

You should move. There are 15-20 people willing to take your place in that house.

I've been to Brentwood late at night and it was so quiet that I could hear a pin drop

so the real question is why is the OP so bored?

Being from NYC, I've only visited that whole Brentwood/Islip area once in the 1980s when I was a kid, and I remember thinking it's just like Upstate...
