If they can do it at Shea (now Citifield), why not Nassau Coliseum?

Of course it (Cuomo’s admission it’s time to open up before vaccines hit critical masse) is so funny (and revealing), the jokes are flying:

“Brilliant strategist... it's incredible that no one thought of this months ago!" Donald Trump Jr.

Personally, I don’t think anybody truly believed following the science meant closing schools, locking playgrounds, banning sports, and shuttering businesses. Ditto that whole glove/wipe down Kabuki dance. Ditto that one could or should try to test away Covid with asymptomatic folks queuing up en masse (CA alone has administered over 36,000,000 tests and leads the nation in cases) This whole and wild Covid reaction has been one for the (political science) books.

They might. Only issue I see is the town of Hempstead is currently led by the most corrupt republicans in NYS. They received millions toward COVID (shocker) but, don’t know how to govern.

Such a waste schooling the same 3 idiots daily, but the RESPONSE was not coordinated in any way. A common sense, rational mind can understand a COORDINATED effort to lockdown, mask, distance, and give REAL info to the citizens would have done o'plenty to slow this down. Instead, well, we got "one for the politcal books." Zero coordinated response. Leadership vacuum, even worse, MISINFORMATION. Too bad serial posters like you can't smell their own BS.

It was smoke and mirrors and destined for recession long before COVID. We actually entered a recession FEBRUARY 2020, before ANY Covid closures. Sorry to trample another right wing fantasy with economic reality, but that's par for the course with the truth and common sense averse.

Fact is, he KNEW the seriousness, the severity, but he CHOSE to weigh the importance of the disease and danger to US health VERSUS danger and health to his endless campaign (he never really governed, just campaigned). He then intentionally misinformation'ed a few hundred thousand to death over months and months. Well played. He is and was the lamest, most incompetent figurehead of paranoia, stupidity and BS ever elected to anything anywhere. His "economy" was as fake as the rest of his attempts at "leadership." He's a clown and anyone who buys into the myth of his successes is a bigger clown. If you back him you are a liar by association., Yeah, Zeldin, I'm talking to you.

No country has dropped in stature in the last 4 years as much as us. NONE!! THAT IS HIS LEGACY. Failure to deliver on promises, empowering wing nut dunces to be his street team and exposing GOP senators as lap toady goofs, not to mention a mystifying and surreal preference for Putin over any US institution.

What is most interesting is the Dems had zero to do with Trump's failures. He did it all himself, as expected. His projects always end up failing or in court. Casinos and golf courses. The worst performing RE plays of the last 30 years! Up to his eyeballs in debt. But yeah, great businessman...luckily daddy gave him enough cash and property that he couldn't blow it completely. Curious how many Capitol stormers got million dollar start up loans from daddy.

https://www.cbsnews.com/news/united-...rted-february/

Read the article they say it began in February due to covid which led to steep job losses the month after. I know you hate every fiber of trumps being and you love Bernie, but like it or not the economy was great under his watch, directly attributed to him? Debatable. Debt? Yes he added a ton, more than anyone. Guess what? so did obama, and bush and so will biden. Much of that debt was from COVID relief. Trump is a populist, he never cared about the debt nor really pretended to care.

Had the fool of a governor followed the other states and reopened in June the state could have had several months of economic activity before the latest surge.

Instead, it will be devastating. Probably no recovery until 2022 or 2023. And now Cuomo knows that Manchin won’t vote for massive more stimulus dollars to bail out his bad decisions.
Did manchin say he was against state bailouts? I know he said he's against just sending out 2000 checks to everyone again, and ending the filibuster. Its amazing he's probably now the most powerful man on capital hill.

The problem is not the vaccinations themselves, that is worked out, the distribution of same is the issue. Does no good to open a 24/7 facility if there is no product to vaccinate with.

The frustrating thing for me is that I am not in any of the essential groups and I want it so bad. Meanwhile there are people in those groups who don’t want it… So give it to people who want it and don’t give it to the people who don’t ... Because those annoying bastards are holding everyone else up. If you don’t want it, please let me have a spot

Same reason the place is still a useless dump. Cause Nassau Co and Town of Hempstead cannot work together.

Hopefully the incoming administration does as it says and enacts the DPA to manufacture enough product to keep up with demands. Sounds like there isn’t a state in the nation that doesn’t have people complaining about a poor rollout of the vaccine. Almost as if this is another federal failure.
