Almost $40 for plywood and $8 for a 2x6?
That’s cray-cray.

Drive around the neighborhood and look for a house in good condition. Return with a truck at night and go to town. Free lumber.

Thank that failed trade war and tariffs. China won. So did Canada. So did Mexico. Everyone but us.

I'm convinced the hedge funds are behind this $15 an hour push. Drive the remaining retail public companies to their knees while cashing in on those company stock's short positions. The ones that don't die, take them over and loot their real estate.

The lumber thing was due to Covid, or so “they” say.

Yes that is right. They put the tree on a boat from China, and it gets stuck for years in the crossing, due to the covid crisis and over the years the Chinese on the boat file the tree down into a 2 x 4's before it arrives here on the mainland USA. That is why it is so expensive.

Seriously, I am trying to buy a Castro Convertible ottoman and they are out of production because of the pandemic and the last I spoke to them, they were waiting for the workers to return from Chinese New Year celebration. Friends waited 3 months for a GE stove. You guessed it.

Really? Pay people more money. They make you your billions.
These clowns always make sure they get their entitled cut.
Which is fine, I don’t have a problem with people making money, but the greed, the lust for power and status, and, contempt for the little guy(whom makes your power and fortune possible) is disgusting.
It’s all about the shareholders. You want your retirement accounts to go down 50% because labor rates went up 100% ?

Your already complaining about prices and the $15 per hour didn’t get passed yet. What happens then?

I left my first ENTRY LEVEL, NON SKILL job out of high school in less than a year because I didn’t get a raise. You say “Decades”?

Nah. It was Covid. But of course even though things leveled out they’re still price gouging.
I’m buying a portable mill. They’re fairly inexpensive. I have a nearly endless supply of resources on my property.
