But, here, in my opinion, you don't get what you pay for....unlike other places.

15k property taxes for a 100x100 lot.
That's actually a relative bargain. I'm at higher taxes and almost half the lot size!

Is Nassau the worst. No Suffolk is! We have all the crappy things of Nassau plus we win the prize for corruption in politics and in law enforcement.

Omg it really is bad out there. Everything I see in my price range are condos. You can get a small ranch or something here on LI for $500k that needs some work but @ least it’s available. $500k puts you in a small condo or coop in the middle of the desert in Cali

I just saw that somewhere in CA has reached 1million as the median home price. That is beyond insane.

yes and if you do get a home @ 1million dollars it is like 900 sq feet or something ridiculously tiny. It's nice out there but I cannot justify that at all ... and here I am thinking LI is bad news bears lol

At least on LI you have water LOL.

My nephew and his GF moved out to LA two years ago, always with the intention of coming back (fresh out of college). Living out there has not changed their minds, they will be back within the year.

LA is worse than LI. I've lived both places.

If they like SoCal they should look at San Diego.

Yeah, but unfortunately that water has Northrup Grumman chemicals in it.
