In 1991, I met a graduate student from Massapequa. He said the town’s nickname was “Matzahpizza”, owing to the dominant ethnic groups. Is that still the norm on Long Island?

I think it’s more Irish and Italian now than Jewish. But as for the rest of LI there are all sorts of different ethnic makeups depending on the area.

Damn. I’ll most likely be dead so I won’t be around for the updates!

Given the closures of local temples in my neck of Massapequa, there's a lot less Matzoh. Still plenty of pizza.

Long Island is a huge place. The ethnic composition of one area is certainly not the same throughout.
