Your question has been answered Mr. Smithtown. Changing your username won't change the answer.

I am getting confused here.

Are you a person who is possibly going to live in the group home and you are afraid of the area?

Or are you a person thinking about moving to HS and you are afraid of the future group home residents?

When it comes to group homes, there are many different kinds. I would think most of the group homes do not contain criminals, but developmentally disabled people, who would not be dangerous to their neighbors.

Default To I LOve LI But

The answer to your questions is I'm thinking of moving into the group home but I am afraid of H S Bad rep for gangs. Would Ninth Avenue fit that bill? A Police man I spoke to said that he would not live in that area. Why would a reputable charirty put developmentally disabled people in danger?

I don't know Huntington Station well enough to pinpoint dangerousness street by street, but if a cop told you that he would not live there (and he carries a gun for a living), I would take his advice.

Why would they put people in jeopardy?

Because they probably got a very good deal on the property and turned a blind eye to the problems around there. Or maybe some fast-talking property seller or realtor talked them into it? I don't know.
