It has nothing to do with geography, theyre just a better, deeper cut station.
Theyre more like FUV or DST in Woodstock. A real gem on LI.
I get both clearly and choose EHM.
I just put it on and so far in ten minutes they've played two Eric Clapton songs that are newer than 1990 and the other song in between was The Gin Blossoms, so they're not exactly endearing themselves to me so far. But I do vaguely remember listening to this station before and it being good...
I'm gonna keep listening and hope it gets better after this acoustic Depeche Mode song
You get 101.9 in Rocky Point? The only city station I can usually get past like Selden/Centereach is 104.3
So funny, I never listen to the radio but every time I put on wbab I am time-warped back to 1983. Also, they must be the last radio station known to man that still plays Zebra!
I dont mind it
I wouldn't mind hearing a little Zebra and Good Rats on the radio now and then myself.

Its Adult Alt not Alt Rock.
Chili Peppers, Bush into ACDC kinda sucks for a format too.
We get decent reception on both and I like acoustic DM.
FYI, since leaving Q104, the PM of the formats of WBAB and WXAQ, Bob Buchmann, has resurfaced on KLOS in LA. LA was probably itching to hear Aqua Lung 4 times a day.
