Didnt you get your answer the first time? No, I would not buy anything in Wyandanch school district.

West Babylon

Wyandanch and West Babylon are two completely different towns. Don't let any realtor give you a line of bullcrap that "oh this is West Babylon" or whatever. Find out for yourself and DON'T let them tell you what school district your address is in --- call the district yourself and find out for sure. You DON'T want your kids (or your future kids) going to school in the Wyandanch district.

I wouldn't buy a dog house in Wyandanch.... it's a crappy/disgusting neighborhood, drug/crime infested, and your home won't gain any value.

If you have a choice, go with West Babylon, but MAKE SURE the house is actually IN West Babylon and that the realtor isn't just telling you that to make the sale. The borderlines between Wyandanch and West Babylon are very strange.

The area that goes to W. Babylon school but borders with Wyandanch is affectionately known as "West Baba-danch"

I had moved a while back to Coram (no kids so school district wasn't a factor) and I had to re-register for the voting and I had to note which school district I was in. I called up the school district and they gave me the number to the head lady (forgot her title) and she told me that all of Coram was in Longwood. So fast forward some years later and now I'm looking for a house with the school district in mind. I come to find out that a few parts of Coram are in Middle Country and Comsewogue. So how can I really find out if the knucklehead in the school district was wrong to begin with??

the map is one thing. The school district is another. You have to make sure that the house is not in Wyanadanch school district. If it is, it doesn't matter if your mailing address is in West Babylon, because for all intents and purposes, you and your kids will be living in Wyandanch, which is not good.
