For SCPD it is from 1960 and for NCPD it's at least that long and you could make a case that it stretches back to the early/mid 1920s.

I'm sure that you can find similar numbers of deaths per capita in any profession on LI. Yes there are inherent dangers to being a cop, but the statistics say that you are working in extraordinarily safe conditions for a cop when you work on LI...and getting paid in the top tier of any cop in the country.
