I wonder if she is part of the movement of blacks only buying things/services from businesses owned by blacks...

Cool (Sigh) It's not that serious folks...

This is from my POV and experience: Black skin care needs (and maybe other folks of color) tend to differ from White skin care needs. Maybe the OP has a concern that she feels she would be more comfortable discussing with a Black derm. Tis all...

I know this will become a hot topic however I second your opinion. I am an African American male and I know there are some things a black dermatologist would understand a lot more than a white one when it comes to the African American skin.

This is from experience. I cannot shave without getting razor bumps no matter what razor I use or how much I shave with the hair and all. Plain a few white dermatologist said try this and that, the black dermatologist just said my skin cannot take said stop using razors all together.

That's true. I say women should only go to OBGYNs who are women...they will understand you better.

OMG. If the poster would like a black derm then so be it. Either you know one or you don't.

Well MAX I think it's within someones rights to ask why. The OP also has the right to ask whatever question they choose. And I totally understand and sympathize with why the OP asked the question. And quite honestly The OP reserves the right to tell the person who asked why to P@@@ off. Hope you get the info you need OP. And I hope whoever you find helps out. I just defended several people at the same time...I think I have a fever, I need to take a nap

The OP maybe should have asked for a dermatologist who specializes in african american skin problems (if that was their ultimate goal).
