Theyr'e EVERYWHERE.....All makes and models, no common denominator among drivers that I can see (all races, religions, sexes seem to drive them)
My neighbor has his and hers Caddy Escalades in the driveway, both black, the son drives a Lincoln LS....guess what color..?
Coming out of a local library some out of towners coming to pay their respects asked me if a rather stately home down the road with a driveway full of them was a local funeral parlor (true story, you can't make this stuff up)...had to redirect them to the right place.
I find myself frequently flanked by them while driving, feels like a secret service escort, the only thing I can think of is it would be easier to spot seagull droppings....do local dealers get a discount from the service on over-orders.....
A little known fact is that Long Island has the largest Amish & Mennonite populations outside of OH. Being shy they disguise their horse drawn buggies as luxury SUV in order not to draw attention to themselves.
The fast paced life of L.I. must be having an effect on those Amish, they keep approaching a stop sign last and going first (can't count the number of times Iv'e had to hit the brakes) and passing me on a double yellow lined road....
Must be they have real horses under the hood.....lol

I grew up on LI in Ronkonkoma (when you could leave you're doors unlocked) and there were many black cars then as well, I think that black is a symbol of luxury, regardless of the car you drive, you want to think it is the best and most empressive. Unless of course it is riding on 3 wheels and has the muffler dragging and the engine has a few minutes left to it, then color don't matter!

Personally I think basic black looks better on Audrey Hepburn and Diana Rigg (Emma Peel of the "Avengers") for sleek elegance and luxury.....it can be downright hideous on some of these SUV's and trucks.....
Salt Lake City, now they should drive black cars, they have the dual "S"....Snow and Seagulls....The latter a by product of the Great Salt Lake, and they can be more of a paint problem for cars than the coasts.
You can be right there with you handi-wipes for easily visible droppings....SLC is also within 30 minutes of some of the world's most snow worthy ski resots, some averaging 500 inches of snow annually...
Black is easily visible driving canyon roads during flying snow, and you can more readily find your car in the parking lot after a day of skiing while it is snowing 2 or more feet.
I always liked black or silver on big, expensive cars. When it comes to Cadillac Escalades, however, I don't know why you would want any color except Diamond Pearl White.
I generally hate gigantic SUVs, but I am partial to the first generation Escalade. After the Acura Legend stopped production in 1995, the automotive industry stopped building cars specifically marketed towards drug dealers and rappers, so in the historic context I respect Cadillac for bringing the car game back to the hood...and giving your local dope man an incentive to work his way up to a kilo from dime bags.
