I am not sure but I would think this is false. I don't know what the average SAT score is, but I know South Sude High School is one of the best on Nassau, that is a fact, it is in the top 100 schools in the COUNTRY..just think of how many high schools there are. South Side is a great school with caring teachers, wide variation of classes, and an IB program for the 11th and 12th graders which is very advanced, would look amazing for college. I wouldn't worry at all!
If you look at the site, it actually says the average is 1,448. The last column is Math+Reading; the second to last is all the total.
A 1448 is below average One of my twin boys took a PSAT over the summer and scored a 1480 and he just turned 13 but then again he had 103 average last year.
I also wouldn't go as far to say that South Side is one of the best in Nassau... where do you get that information from? Not that I don't think RVC is a relatively good town, but I wouldn't write home about South Side. I don't really get the new SAT scores, since I took them before they were out of 2400.
I got a 1330 on my SATs, and that was low to me. I had a 105 weighted GPA in high school, so I was expected to do much better. The first time I took them, I got a 1260 which was disastrous. I think that yes, there are other factors that come into play other than SAT scores.
